About us

Glebelands operates under Soil Association organic standards, which recognises the environmental benefits of organic practices. By using organic methods we avoid the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides and instead concentrate on building biodiversity on site, working with nature to create a healthy balance.

All produce is sold within five miles of the site, meaning that carbon emissions are minimised. We also have on site composting to increase fertility, and any additional soil inputs are sourced within 5 miles, again keeping emissions low. At Glebelands we aim to demonstrate that low carbon food production is possible.

Our location on the edge of a major city means we provide fresh food to the city that can be eaten the same day as it was picked. We believe that this model of food production can be practiced on a wider scale and want to pass this message on.
